Jajovski, who won both opening rounds of the virtual racing series, was again immediately on the pace after qualifying P3. The Macedonian maintained his third place position for the majority of the race before grabbing his opportunity with six minutes remaining, passing title rival Kevin Siggy for P2 before setting his sights on leader Frederik Rasmussen.
Dialling in fastest laps, Jajovski began to reel in the race leader and close on a third victory. But with energy levels dwindling he was forced to back off his charge, settling for P2 an enhancing his championship position.
“Given the position I started in, I’m happy with P2 – I think it’s a pretty good result,” reflected Jajovski afterward. “After overtaking Kevin [Siggy] I was close on energy and I only had 0.2% of usable energy left at the end of the race. It was really tight! I started lifting a lot earlier than usual so I could get to the end. I’m looking forward to the next race and I hope we can carry over our form from the first four races.”
Rounding off a good day for the ROKiT Venturi Racing team, Lorenz Hoerzing made it a double points finish by making up four places from his starting position to take P8. And in the first part of the Accelerate Driver Challenge, Norman Nato enjoyed a tremendous race, starming from P12 on the grid to take P3 and advance ROKiT Venturi Racing’s Teams’ Championship tally by a further 15 points.
