Formula E steering wheel explained

When you or I jump into our car, we don’t give the steering wheel a second thought. The most challenging thing we may have to do is toggle radio channels or volume levels whilst turning a corner.

For a Formula E driver, it does a lot more than merely steer the car and is arguably the most important piece of equipment. From energy saving, lap data, gear selection, regeneration maps, brake balance, torque maps, full course yellow buttons and much more, the driver has much to think about whilst defending or fighting for position at speeds approaching 160mph!

DS TECHEETAH Sporting and Technical Director Pedro de la Rosa talks us through this most complex and important piece of kit.
