The historic Williams Racing F1 team, partnered by Acronis, has unveiled its Williams Mercedes FW43B car and livery ahead of the 2021 Formula One season.
Always pleasing on the eye, the new livery appears to be a nod to the successful past and the classic blue and white design but with a twist that underlines its ambitions under US based Investment company, Dorilton Capital.
“Williams Racing is a sporting icon, and a team that has forged a reputation of success through sheer determination and grit intertwined with innovation, passionate and skilful race-craft and an absolute desire to win,” commented CEO of Williams Racing, Jost Capito.
“Highs and lows are typical in any long-established sporting brand’s journey and historic success can be a strong motivator, but it cannot be relied upon to define future success in the modern era of Formula One.

“Therefore, we have created a fresh new livery for the 2021 car; one that acknowledges our incredible past and retains the spirit, drive and motivation that remains at the core of Williams’ DNA yet looks to the future and signposts our long-term ambition to return to the front of the grid. Whilst we are just starting out on this journey and there is still a lot of work to do, we are happy to see momentum in the right direction and look forward to continuing that progress on track this season.”
Speaking at the launch, Williams driver George Russell said that the exciting look of the new car was a hopefully a sign of big things to come.
“I like the new look. It’s exciting, it’s got a hint of heritage in there with a dash of yellow which I think is cool,” said Russell. “Altogether I think it’s exciting and that’s the team at the moment. New ownership, new look, new brand and it’s the start of a new beginning.”
