The Hendrick Motorsports team, partnered by Acronis, kept up its remarkable run of winning form as William Byron came out on top of a thriller at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
In a race that saw several changes for the lead, Byron led on eight different occasions and crucially the final ten to head home Ross Chastain and Kurt Busch.
With 46 lead changes among 20 different drivers, it was a track record for the 1.54 mile Atlanta Oval but no driver led for longer than Byron, who took the lead for the first time on lap 35 and winning the first stage en route to his third career victory and almost certainly a playoff spot.

“I think these fans saw one heck of a race,” reflected Byron. “It was certainly long from my seat. It was mentally taxing.
“We had a pretty rough practice. (The team) worked hard on it and got it handling well.”
Byron’s victory means that Hendrick Motorsports becomes just the second team in NASCAR history to produce three different winners in the first five races of a Cup Series season.
His win was also a record-extending 15th at Atlanta for Hendrick Motorsports with Byron being the seventh different driver to win there for the organization.
