The NIO 333 FE Team has unveiled a striking livery for the FE-005 machine in which it hopes to take the fight to the opposition for the 2019/20 ABB FIA Formula E Championship season.

With four days of pre-season testing at Valencia preceding the opening race of the season at Ad-Diriyah, Saudi Arabia on November 22, Oliver Turvey and new Chinese teammate Ma Qing Hua were on hand to put the new car through its paces alongside the rest of the competition.

The NIO FE-005 certainly looks the part, sporting the NIO blue, indigo blue and Chinese red representing title sponsor NIO and Chinese motorsport industry giant, Shanghai Lisheng Racing Co. Ltd., which has licensed its sub-brand “333 Racing” to this new team.

Acronis also continues as technical partner in the area of cyber protection and data back-up and is again prominently featured on the rear of the chassis.

“It’s our greatest pleasure to collaborate with NIO and participate in Formula E,” said Vincent Wang, CEO of NIO 333 FE Team. “NIO has achieved great results in the past, and the NIO 333 FE Team will thrive to live on that heritage. The championship is a great platform for Chinese motorsports to enter the world stage, and we are very happy to be here.

“We are ready to both join the FE family and to take on the challenges, and we hope that the team will continue to make progress with our efforts. We are also looking forward to see the moment the red lights go out.”

William Li, founder, chairman and CEO of NIO, added his words of support to the team drivers and new partners for the forthcoming season, which promises to be another exciting one.

“Formula E has experienced a rapid expansion in the past few years and we are pleased to continue our participation in the championship,” added Li. “We also appreciate the support from our new partner Lisheng Racing. With our joint efforts, I believe the new NIO 333 FE Team will be more competitive. I also wish Oliver Turvey and Ma Qing Hua great success in the coming season.”
