Hendrick drivers sitting pretty in playoffs after consistency in Kansas

All four drivers in the Hendrick Motorsports team, partnered by Acronis, are still in with a great shout of ultimate NASCAR Cup glory after an impressive outing at the Kansas Speedway.

Alex Bowman, who won in Las Vegas, was the highest placed of the quartet with a fourth place finish, leading a season-high 107 laps before finishing ahead of sixth-placed William Byron and eighth placed Kyle Larson.

“We’re performing at a level where any day can be our day,” Bowman is quoted on the official Hendrick website. “This is what the 48 team is all about. It’s that time of year.”

And despite starting a lowly 22nd and with nothing to lose, regular season champion Chase Elliott stormed through the field in stunning style to finish a brilliant 11th, given the circumstances.

It all means that all four Hendrick Motorsports drivers sit above the cutline with the bottom four drivers set for elimination when racing moves onto Bristol Motor Speedway.

Of the 16 drivers still in the running, Byron is sitting pretty in second place with Bowman, Elliott and defending champ Larson 6th, 7th and 8th respectively.
