Marc Marquez once again proved the king of the Sachsenring, claiming a tenth MotoGP win in Germany and moving to third in the standings.
A 102nd career victory has put the Spaniard right back into the title fight, now just a place behind second place finisher Ai Ogura.

“The goal for the weekend was to attack in order to recover as many points as possible,” said Marquez on the official Ducati website. “We managed to do so on a track that suits my riding style very well.
“I’m happy, but not completely happy: I would have loved to see Alex (Márquez) on the podium given the pace he had.”
A perfect 10th victory for @marcmarquez93 at his happiest hunting ground 👑

Following victory in Saturday’s Sprint race, Marquez led the feature from pole and got away to the perfect start, keeping Ogura and Fernandez behind.
Somewhat surprisingly, during a season filled with thrills, spills, overtakes and accidents, Marquez was rarely troubled out in front.
Behind him, Ogura made his move to pass Fernandez for second into Turn 1 in the closing stages.

Behind the top three, Pedro Acosta finished as best of the rest ahead of Jorge Martin and Pecco Bagnaia.
It all means that Martin leads Ogura by 14 points with Marquez now just a further four points behind the Japanese.

The absent Marco Bezzechi drops to fourth after such a dominant start to the season as the riders now head into the summer break.
“Now it’s time for the summer break,” added Marquez. “I’d like to rest because this first half of the season was very demanding, but at the same time we need to make a step forward with my right arm.
“Maybe some people have forgotten because the results have been good, but the difference between left- and right-hand corners is huge.”
Next stop the British GP from 7-9 August.
