For its latest, and possibly most unusual tech partnership, Aston Martin Racing is relying on the power of a good night’s sleep to gain an advantage over the opposition.
In Formula One Racing, where any performance edge can mean vital milliseconds and where peak focus is of the essence, they are hoping the world’s leading sleep technology company will provide just that.
‘Eight Sleep will provide the team with its industry-leading sleep technology, the Pod, designed to optimise recovery through temperature regulation and continuous physiological tracking’, read the partnership press release.
It continues: ‘Eight Sleep’s technology turns sleep into a controllable performance lever. Unlike static tools or one-size-fits-all solutions, the Pod responds to the body night by night, enabling deeper recovery and faster adaptation across changing training loads, travel demands, and race schedules.’
The technology, not only used by racing drivers such as Fernando Alonso, Lance Stroll and Charles Leclerc but athletes across other sports such as Taylor Fritz, Sidney Crosby and Francisco Lindor.
‘Research across its member base has shown up to a 34% improvement in deep sleep, and reports of 41% better overall sleep quality, reinforcing the role of sleep as a critical driver of recovery and performance’ adds the release.
“In Formula One, performance is the result of marginal gains accumulated over an entire season,” commented Jefferson Slack, Managing Director – Commercial and Marketing, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One™ Team.
“Sleep is a critical performance input, and Eight Sleep’s AI-powered sleep technology allows us to optimise recovery in a way that static solutions cannot.
“Their approach will give our drivers and team a real edge, and we’re excited to partner as we continue to raise the bar for performance.”

Matteo Franceschetti, CEO and Co-Founder, Eight Sleep added: “Aston Martin Aramco represents a new standard in how teams think about performance.
“From world-class engineering to the relentless pursuit of marginal gains, this is an organisation that understands that results are shaped by what happens long before the lights go out on race day.
“At Eight Sleep, we have built the most advanced sleep technology in the world for athletes and high performers.
“By combining AI, real-time physiology, and one of the largest sleep datasets in existence, we help turn recovery into a competitive advantage. We are proud to support Aston Martin Aramco this season as they push performance to its limits.”
