The BWT Racing Point team is fit, ready and raring to go before the opening grand prix weekend of the season at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia.
After an encouraging pre-season test in Barcelona, where the team appeared to show significant improvements, team driver Lance Stroll is excited to return to a venue that saw him score points for the team in 2019.
“The atmosphere around the place and the energy of the weekend is really one of a kind – it’s not like any other race, in that sense,” said Stroll. “I had a good result there last year, scoring my first points with the team, so that’s a good memory. I’ve been looking forward to going back ever since.”
The popular Canadian has also been indulging in another of his favourite pastimes in the build-up to the Australian Grand Prix weekend, taking time out to have a hit at the famous Melbourne Park tennis arena with none other than former World No.1 and 2002 Wimbledon Champion Lleyton Hewitt. And, by the look of things, Stroll is not only talented behind the wheel of a racing car.

As for matters relating to things back on the circuit, fans could be in for a dramatic opening to the season as Albert Park has traditionally seen incident aplenty, with six Safety Car appearances in the last ten grands prix.
It will keep the strategists thinking not only at the circuit but back at the Acronis Mission Control Centre back at the team’s base in Silverstone. Add into this the famous Melbourne weather, that is known to have ‘four seasons in one day’, it could turn out to be a very interesting weekend indeed.
