Bart Horsten joins Hitech GP for the 2021 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship

Hitech GP, partnered by Acronis, has confirmed that Australian driver Bart Horsten will join the team to compete in his second season in the BRDC British F3 Championship.

The up and coming 17-year-old enjoyed a strong maiden campaign in 2020, securing three podiums en route to tenth in the drivers’ standings with Lanan Racing.

His talent was recognised in 2019, when Horsten finished fifth In the British F4 Championship having netted nine podiums and a race victory.

“I really enjoyed competing in British F3 last year, so I feel as though it was the obvious choice to make a return for another season and this time with the intention of challenging for the Championship,” commented Horsten. “I’m really excited to be joining Hitech GP they are an amazing team in terms of their professionalism, their facilities and the resources at their disposal. There’s a lot that can be achieved for myself and the team in 2021, so I cannot wait to start working with the team in earnest.”

Horsten is the first of Hitech’s drivers to be confirmed for 2021 and will be joined by a further two drivers for the team’s second season in British F3. 

“We are excited to welcome Bart to the team,” added Hitech Team Principal, Oliver Oakes. “He had a strong rookie season last year in British F3, impressing us with his natural speed and approach. We look forward to seeing him develop into a championship contender.”

The season opener is scheduled to take place on 22-23 May at Brands Hatch Circuit with eight further rounds taking place at circuits across the UK.
